ScientificRFA is an engineering consulting firm specializing in the the research and development of Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) and Precision Programmable Power Source (PPPS™) products. Our highly modular and flexible RFA products known as "Radio Frequency Adaptive Ablation Technology" (RFAAT™) can be customized and interfaced to any RFA catheters in the market. Our programmable RF generators are designed to provide up to 150 watts of clean RF energy with variable frequency; higher output powers are also possible. Ablation modules are designed to handle and manipulate up to 50W of RF energy using feedback algorithms such as PID, FUZZY logic, PWM or user developed mathematical algorithms. Up to eight modules can be cascaded for catheters with multiple electrodes and temperature sensors. For catheters with higher number of electrodes, our Multi-Catheter (Multi-Cath™) module can be programmed to handle up to 32 electrodes. The Cool Patient Grounding Pad "Cool-Pgnd™" is our latest addition to "RFAAT™" system. This technology eliminates patient's skin burns caused by high power RF energy during Electrosurgical and RF ablation procedures. Figure 1 is a simplified block diagram of the RFAAT™ system. Electrical and Thermal Characteristic of Biological Tissue Modeling (ETCBTM™)
Theoretical modeling of biological tissue using computer simulation tools can be very helpful in providing vital information on the electrical and thermal characteristics of the tissue in order to determine a proper treatment for individual patients. The Electrical and Thermal Characteristic of Biological Tissue Modeling (ETCBTM) program provides a visual three-dimensional (3-D) and numerical representation used to determine the temperature distribution and electrical property of various types of tissues. This tool uses the minimum amount of RF energy required for the procedure; thereby resulting in the safest possible ablation treatment. The ETCBTM program is easy to use and has great marketing potential since it can be used by doctors, scientists or medical research facilities such as universities. Similar products in the market have limited capabilities and are very expensive (often priced per seat and out of reach for many research teams). Precision Programmable Power Source (PPPS):
This unique programmable and modular power source technology offers a complete solution for AC/DC power testing as well as power supply design in an R&D environment. With many novel circuits /algorithms as well as multi-functionality, ease of use with graphical programming, our PPPS products eliminates the need for multiple pieces of test equipment and complex setup and programming.
